Share a tournament
Make a public page link, short code and QR code, choose how names show, revoke links, and post announcements to a tournament.
The names and results shown are made up (the Maple Street Pool League is a demo organization).
Players and spectators can follow the Maple Street Fall Cup on their phones without signing in. You give them a link, a short code or a QR code from the tournament's Share step. Only the tournament's director can make public links.
Choose how names show
Before you make a link, decide how entrants' names appear. Under Names on the public page, choose one:
- First name and last initial (John M.), the choice made for you at first
- Full names as entered
- Numbers only (Entrant 1, Entrant 2)
Anyone with the link can see the names. For players under 18, use numbers. Choose Save name choice.
Make a public link
- Open the tournament and choose Share.
- Under Public page, choose Make a public link.
- LeagueOrbit shows a QR code, the link and a short code. Use Copy link, Copy code or Download QR code to keep them.
- Choose Done when you've saved them.
The code is shown only once, so save or share it before you choose Done. If you lose it, simply make another link.
People can open the page from the link, by scanning the QR code, or by typing the short code at the address shown next to it. When check-in is required and players may check themselves in, you'll also see Print as a check-in sign: a printable sign with the QR code for the venue.
Preview the public page
Under Preview, you see exactly what the public page shows right now. Check it before you send the link out.
Revoke a link
Every link you've made is listed under Links, with when it was made, by whom, how many times it was scanned and when it was last scanned.
Choose Revoke next to a link to turn it off. Anyone using it then sees that the page is no longer available. Your other links keep working.
What spectators see
The public page shows:
- your organization's name and the tournament's name
- the date, the venue, the format and the races
- how many have entered, and whether it's setting up, in progress or finished
- your announcements for the tournament
- the entrants before the draw, then the matches and results by round, and the champion at the end
- standings for a round robin, or the chip table for a chip tournament
- any live streams from your tables
Nothing else about your organization is shown. If you've set it up, the page uses your brand from the Brand kit (see Stream your matches with overlays). An archived tournament has no public page.
If registration is open, signed-in players can also register from this page. See Let players register online.
List it in search
Above the public page section, List in LeagueOrbit search lets signed-in players find the tournament and open its public page to register. Enter the City and State, choose how long under Keep it listed for, and choose Save listing. Remove from search takes it out again.
Post an announcement to a tournament
An announcement shows as a banner at the top of players' pages, and on the tournament's public page.
- Open Tournament announcements from the menu (under Messages).
- Under Who sees it, choose the tournament.
- Set Starts and Ends (within 90 days).
- Enter a Title, and a Message if you like. For example: "Fall Cup starts at 7:30. Check in at the bar."
- Add Link text and a Link address if you want, or leave both empty.
- Choose Post announcement.
Your announcements are listed below as showing now, scheduled or withdrawn. Choose Edit to change one, or Withdraw to stop showing it.
