Move Your Pool League from Spreadsheets to LeagueOrbit

Save your player and team spreadsheets as CSV files, import them, check for mistakes, invite captains and start the new season.

The names and results shown are made up (the Maple Street Pool League is a demo organization).

If your league lives in spreadsheets, you can bring your players and teams across with CSV files. This moves your people and teams, not your past results.

Before you start

  1. Tidy one spreadsheet of players. The first row names the columns: first_name is required, and you can add last_name, email, phone, rating and status.
  2. Tidy one spreadsheet of teams, with the columns team, first_name, last_name, email and captain. Put yes in the captain column for each captain.
  3. Save both as CSV files.

Import and check

  1. Open Players, then Import (CSV). Choose the file and choose Preview import.
  2. Check the preview before you go on, including anyone who appears twice.
  3. Import your teams. See the teams and players guide for each step.

Start the season

  1. Create the schedule for your first session.
  2. Send captains and players their invitations from the Invitations tab on Players.
  3. Choose how handicaps work, if you use them.
