Pickleball Open Play: Rotating Partner Round Robins
Run open play or a social round robin where partners change every round: LeagueOrbit makes the games, shares the sit-outs and keeps the standings.
The names and results shown are made up (the Maple Street Pool League is a demo organization).
A rotating partner round robin (sometimes called a mixer or a social) is the easiest way to run open play: everyone plays doubles, and partners change every round. LeagueOrbit makes each round's games and keeps the standings on one phone or tablet at the courts.
Start a session
- Switch the Sport switch at the top of the page to Pickleball.
- Open Score a match, go to Scoreboard and choose Open play: rotating partners.
- Type everyone who's playing, one name per line (4 to 48 players).
- Choose how many Courts you have and the Game (to 11, 15 or 21, side-out or rally scoring).
- Choose Make round 1.
Each round
Each court shows its two teams. LeagueOrbit gives everyone a new partner where it can, and spreads who they play against. When there are more players than places on the courts, the players who have sat out least sit out next, so everyone sits out about as often.
- When a game ends, type each team's score on that court.
- Choose Save scores. A score that isn't a finished game (for example 11-10 in a game to 11, win by 2) is refused, and anything you typed stays so you can fix it.
- When every court is saved, choose Next round.
Made the next round too early? Take back the last round removes it while it has no scores.

Standings
The standings list every player by games won, then the point difference, then points scored. They also show games lost, points for and against, and how many rounds each player sat out. Full screen shows the round and the standings large, for a screen at the courts.
The session stays on that device until you choose End the session, even if the page is closed.
