Pickleball league nights
Set up a pickleball league with skill divisions, choose the match format for each night, and record every game on the match sheet.
The names and results shown are made up (the Maple Street Pool League is a demo organization).
A pickleball league works like any LeagueOrbit league: a league has sessions, and each session has divisions with teams. This guide covers what is different for pickleball.
Add a pickleball league
- Switch the Sport switch to Pickleball.
- Open Leagues, and add a league. Its first division is added with it.
- Name each division the way your players know it, such as 3.5 doubles or 4.0 singles.
- Add teams and players in Rosters, and publish a schedule.
A league stays in the sport it was made in, and everything about it (players, messages, dues and money) shows only in Pickleball.
Choose the match format
Open the division's match format and start from a preset:
- Doubles best of 3: games to 11.
- Singles best of 3: games to 11.
- Doubles one game.
- Team of 4, 2 doubles: a point per game.
Or build your own night in the format editor. For each game, choose doubles or singles, games to 11, 15 or 21, and side-out scoring or rally scoring. Every game is won by 2.
Choose Save format. Matches already played keep the format they were played under. Pickleball formats have no handicap. Singles games count toward each player's LeagueOrbit pickleball rating.
Record a league match
- On the match sheet, players set their lineups as usual.
- For each game, mark which side won, or choose Score on the pickleball scoreboard and score it rally by rally at the court. Each finished game is saved to the sheet with its score and rallies.
- Both sides confirm the result.
The sheet works out the match and the team result, and the standings update themselves. Games scored on the pickleball scoreboard also give each player points per game and rally numbers in My stats.
During the season
- Email your players and post announcements from the league.
- Move a match with a reschedule; the schedule and standings follow.
- Bill dues by player or by team, and record payments.
Players
Players follow their schedule and standings on their phones. Their league nights count in My stats once the match sheet is final, with their LeagueOrbit pickleball rating; they can also record other matches there. Pickleball numbers are kept apart from any other sport: see Pickleball Rating and Statistics.
