Run the Player Auction from phones
Open a round for each player or team and let people bid on their phones, open or blind.
The names and results shown are made up (the Maple Street Pool League is a demo organization).
On the Organizer plan, people can bid in your Player Auction from their phones instead of calling out amounts. LeagueOrbit keeps track; it never takes or moves money.
Before you start
- Open the tournament and go to Player Auction. Set up the board if you haven't.
- Share the tournament's public page (the Share step): its link, code or QR code. Bidders open it and sign in.
Open a round
- Under Phone bidding, choose the Entrant.
- Choose the Type:
- Open: everyone sees the highest amount, and each new amount must beat it by the raise. A late amount adds time, so nobody wins in the last second. - Blind: amounts stay private until the round closes. Bidders can change theirs until then.
- Set how long it's open, the lowest amount, and who's shown on the public page (bidder numbers or hidden). For a blind round, choose whether amounts show and what happens if amounts tie.
- Choose Start the round.
You see every amount as it comes in, with the bidder's name. The public page never shows names.
Finish a round
- When the time runs out, or you choose Close now, the highest amount is shown.
- Choose Accept. The result goes onto the board as the owner and amount.
- If blind amounts tie, LeagueOrbit follows the rule you picked: the tied bidders bid again, the earliest amount wins, or you choose the winner.
- Cancel round stops a round before it's accepted.
What bidders see
The player or team, the time left, how many have bid, and (if you allow it) the highest amount. Signed in, they see their own bidder number and amount. Losing blind amounts are never shown.
Collect payment the way you always do, then mark it Payment confirmed externally on the board.
